Account and first workspace

Profile-picture upload, password visibility, and browser-push controls expose contextual names and current states to screen readers before pointer hover.

Your Bnder account lets you open the web app, join workspaces, manage user settings, and use workspace features that depend on your identity.

Bnder can support several sign-in methods depending on the workspace and deployment:

email and password
Slack sign-in for linked Slack workspaces
Discord sign-in for Discord-backed workflows

Email and password are the primary form controls, with password recovery directly beside that flow. Slack and Discord remain available as secondary alternatives. On small screens Bnder hides the product overview so the sign-in form stays first and immediately visible.

Use the same sign-in method you used when you were invited or when your workspace was connected. If you sign in with a different method, Bnder may treat it as a separate account until the workspace membership is linked.

Email verification

When you sign up with email and password, Bnder sends a verification link and keeps the app on a confirmation page. The page detects verification completed in another tab automatically. Workspace creation and other protected app actions remain unavailable until the address is verified.

Open the verification link in the same browser where possible. If the message does not arrive, use Send Verification Email; resends have a short cooldown. If the link says Already verified, it was already used successfully within the last 7 days. Return to the waiting app tab or sign in again so the app reloads the latest account status.

Invitations

If someone invited you to an existing workspace, accept that invitation before creating a separate workspace.

After your email is verified, Bnder creates your first workspace automatically only if your account is still empty. This does not happen when you already belong to a workspace or have a pending workspace invitation, so invited users can join the intended team workspace first.

You can review pending invitations from User Settings -> Invitations. Accept the invitation for the workspace you want to join, then reopen the workspace list if the new workspace does not appear immediately.

Invitations sent to your verified account email remain available until you accept or decline them, or the sender withdraws them. If none appear, ask an administrator of the workspace you need to access to invite that exact email address.

First workspace

The first workspace uses your display name when available.

Workspace admins can rename the workspace later from Workspace Settings -> General.

If you start from a support portal, help center, bug report portal, client portal, email-to-ticket, or Discord support page, Bnder asks what you want to build and uses your product or team name to create starter docs, an example request, and example follow-up work.

When one save changes several account fields, Bnder validates the email and password before applying any of them. An invalid email or weak password therefore leaves the display name and workspace profile unchanged. Password-change email delivery cannot turn an already completed password update into a failed save message.

Open User Settings -> General to update personal account details.

You can manage:

profile picture
display name
account email address and verification status
password for email/password accounts
browser push preference
notification delivery preference
app theme
app language

When you add a task deadline, Bnder may explain how browser push can deliver deadline and assignment updates while the app is in the background. The browser permission prompt appears only after you explicitly enable the option. Dismissing the contextual suggestion keeps it hidden on that browser; push remains available in User Settings.

Changing your email may require verification before all account flows are available again.

When your current address is verified, Account Settings shows a green verified status instead of continuing to promote a verification email action. A resend action is only appropriate when the account has an unverified address and the product can issue a new verification message.

If delivery fails, the verification screen shows an error and keeps Resend email available immediately. A cooldown starts only after the mail provider accepts the message.

Changing the address is a separate flow: the current address remains read-only, you enter a new address and select Change email address, then confirm the requested address using the emailed link. While that request is pending, Account Settings shows the requested address and a secondary Resend confirmation email action.

The profile menu visually separates routine Support and Settings links from Leave Workspace and Logout. Bnder Support on Discord is marked as an external link and opens Discord in a new tab. Leaving a workspace requires confirmation and removes your membership and access to its content. Bnder also clears your task assignments and subscriptions, calendar participation and imported calendar events, shared-resource access, every file and folder you own in the workspace (including empty top-level folders), and paid-seat assignment. Workspace owners must transfer ownership before they can leave.

Calendar preferences

Open User Settings -> Calendar to manage personal calendar defaults that can differ from the workspace defaults, when your workspace allows user-level preferences.

When the personal holiday region is off, the page names the effective workspace country and region. If the workspace has no enabled holiday calendar, it says so explicitly instead of implying that the disabled personal selectors are the active configuration.

Development settings

Open User Settings -> Advanced, then deliberately expand Development, for integration settings owned by your user account. This area contains API credentials and OAuth controls and remains collapsed during normal settings use.

Icon actions include descriptive labels for keyboard and assistive-technology users. Help actions also indicate that the linked documentation opens in a new browser tab.

From there, owners can manage API keys and OAuth apps. Servers must be registered before their workspace data can be accessed through the API, and users can register only workspaces they own.

Subscriptions and legal

Open User Settings -> Subscriptions for subscription-related account actions. Plan comparisons live there instead of occupying the routine workspace toolbar. Bnder introduces an upgrade in context when you select a paid capability or reach a relevant workspace limit.

The Legal section links to Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, and Imprint in a new browser tab, as announced by each action. Open-source Licenses stay in an in-app view so your account-settings context is preserved.

Download your data creates a ZIP archive with JSON records and your profile picture. It contains your memberships, events and member profiles, plus all accessible project tasks, documents, and topics without a per-project item cutoff. Task and document access are checked separately, so projects where you can use both features include both datasets. Shared records can include collaborators’ contributions, while records you cannot access are excluded. Preparation can take up to 24 hours; Bnder notifies you when it is ready, and the download remains available for two weeks.

Deleting your account is permanent. Workspaces you own and their content are deleted for everyone; you lose access to shared workspaces, although records managed by those workspaces may remain. Subscriptions billed through your account are cancelled. Download your data first if you need a copy. The final flow requires typing DELETE and a recent password or provider authentication. The app confirms deletion only after stored files, account images, and the login account have been removed. If a storage or sign-in provider is temporarily unavailable, deletion reports an error so you can retry instead of showing a false success.

Open User Settings -> Legal to request a download of your account data when the export is available. Bnder prepares the export first; when the archive is ready, the settings page shows the download action.

Delete your account

Account deletion is available from User Settings -> General.

Deleting your account is separate from deleting a workspace. Check Data Deletion before deleting either one, especially if you own workspaces or integrations.

No workspaces shown

If the app says no workspaces were found, check:

whether you signed in with the same account that was invited
whether your account has the email address or connected sign-in method used for the invitation
whether the Slack or Discord workspace is still connected
whether you still belong to the linked Slack or Discord workspace
